APRIL 2005 NEWS ARCHIVE  RED STAR FC 93

Updated 29th April 2005

SQUAD. For tomorrow evenings' game, coach Jean-Luc Girard will have to wait until the very last minute before naming the exact starting line-up against Meaux. The main uncertainty is the participation of Jimmy Hamme who injured his ankle last weekend. The possibles:
Bell - Budoc, Diomande, Gueï, Hammami, Tounkara, Yessad - Abdallah, Chamma, Cuervo, Hamme, N'Simba, Ouattara - Benmesmoudi, Hamdani, Tandia.
DH THIS WEEKEND Morangis-Chilly (2nd), on the same number of points as Red Star are at home to Evry (12th), a team which are fighting for survival. Sannois Saint-Gratien (4th) just two points behind travel to in-form Orly (8th). Le Mée Sports (5th) four points behind travel to an Arménienne (10th) bouyed by the midweek cup win against Red Star but still in need of points to be sure of safety. Saint-Leu (6th) five points behind welcome bottom club Brétigny. Elsewhere : Versailles (13th) v Cosmo (7th) and Aubervilliers (11th) - Lusitanos (9th).
YOANN DELANEUVILLE. Popular ex-Red Star man now plying his trade at Pau (National) sends his best regards to Red Star and wishes his ex-team mates good luck in the fight for promotion to the CFA 2.
COUPE DE PARIS. Red Stars' adventure in the Coupe de Paris is over, but for Entente SSG and Neauphle the semi-finals beckon following their respective wins over Choisy-le-Roi 1-1 (4-5 pens) and Lusitanos 1-0.

SUNDAYS' MEETING. Last Sunday before the game Red Star v Lusitanos, the Collectif des Amis supproters' group organised a public meeting with Red Stars' president Mr. Bruno Davoine. The meeting was chaired by supporters' club president Mr. Olivier Hercy. Mr Davoine presented the achievements so far of the club and future plans.
Bruno Davoine talked of the re-birth of the club back in June 2003, thanks to the work of Eric Charrier and his team.
« An abandoned club, there was nothing remaining ! The target of the first season was to get the club back on the rails. The arrival of Christian Duraincie in 2004 has allowed the club to restucture. Now the club has life, and the directors meet every two weeks in order to state where we are in sporting terms (Jean-Luc Girard), in the financial domaine and also development projects »
Projects in hand :

  1. A partnership with the site allezredstar.com
  2. A Centre de Préformation for the under 14s. An agreement will be soon made with a Saint-Ouen college so that we can use the Centre de l’Ile-des-Vannes. There would be forty-odd youngsters selected, not just from Saint-Ouen but from the whole département. Saint-Ouen town council and the département would be in favour of this idea. Another project is on a départemental scale, and has the favour of Philippe Delpech. In total 56 football clubs would be involved with the main five being Noisy-le-Sec, Les Lilas, Villemomble, Le Blanc-Mesnil and Red Star FC 93
  3. Red Star are putting together a Ladies XI to represent the club.
  4. Red Star FC 93 will be organising a tournament of Futsal. Next season there will be a team from Red Star involved in the local championship.

« The aim of the club is to blend in with the local community. Red Star FC 93 sees itself as a community club.
Red Stars' three keywords are : Respect, Rigour and Success.
Respect of referees, ones opponent, and to give a honest and clean image of oneself. Respect occurs on and off the pitch where supporters must also respect each other.
The budget must also be adhered to strictly. For the current season the figure is 386 000 euros to be split 57% for salaries and 43% for charges.
Income is made up of 66% from grants, 14% from sponsoring, 20% from gate receipts, the snack bar, shirt & souvenir sales etc etc
Despite having a famous name, sponsors are not easy to find, and the clubs from L1 and L2 absorb the majority of the sponsors available. However several potential sponsors have been in contact with the club and two deals should be struck in the coming weeks. Red Star also have received the sum of 20 000 euros for the transfer to an English club of an ex-Red Star youngster.
For next season, the aim is to strenghten the standards of the clubs' Youth coaches. If Red Star are to become a formative club once again then there is no other choice. Red Star will be actively involved in training, and will participate in costs of courses.
A good news is that two of the first team players have been found employment with the RATP (Parisien transport organisation that runs the Métro, busses & trams). The aim is to find more jobs like this for next season.
On a sporting level the management is satisfied and the first team is still on course for promotion to the CFA 2. This is important if the plan of a return to the National in five seasons is to be achieved. Confidence in coach Jean-Luc Girard is total, and his contract has been renewed for two more years. The under 14s who play at a national level are on track to comfortably retain their place in the top flight; the under 18s would like to reach the national level but the job is a tad tricky now. »

COACH NAMES SQUAD.
Red Star first team supremo jean-Luc Girard has named his squad for tonights' Coupe de Paris clash at Bauer against Arménienne (8-30pm CET):
Mama, Lihequel, Diallo, Ararouche, Moussa Hamdani, Diawara, Budoc, Ba, Chamma, Aklouche, Da Cruz, Baldé, Gassama, Marques
As predicted, Jean-Luc has rested most of his regular first team squad, but nevertheless most of the line-up this evening have experienced first-team footbal, including exciting prospects Aklouche and Chamma as well as "old-hands" Alhaji Baldé, Phil Marques, Jérémy Budoc and Mustapha Gassama

TONIGHTS' BIG CUP TIE. Forget Chelski and Liverpool, this is THE big match tonight ! Red Star take on Arménienne in the Coupe de Paris, kick off 8-30pm at Stade Bauer. Both clubs are currently involved in struggles at opposite ends of the league table, so it is likely that the players on view will be fringe players and youngsters hoping to catch the eye of the respective first-team coaches. In the last round, for instance Loic Ghili scored for Red Star in the victory over JA Drancy.
All the cup quarter finals take place this evening, with DH co-leaders Morangis-Chilly taking on Red Stars' neighbours CFA2 outfit Les Lilas, club de CFA 2. Choisy-le-Roi (CFA 2) who have just parted company with their coach welcome Sannois Saint-Gratien (DH). Finally Neauphle (DSR) travel to Lusitanos (DH).
In order to reach this stage, Red Star have dispatched Franconville 2-1 (Hamme & Abdallah), Le Plessis-Robinson 3-0 (Tandia, Benmesmoudi, Aklouche) and JA Drancy 2-0 (Hamdani & Ghili). Arménienne have eliminated Puteaux 5-0, Paris FC 3-0 & Villemomble 2-0. Tonights' game will be officiated by Lionel Mazurier assisted by Stéphane Philippe & Sébastien Joubert.

Kick off against Drancy: Marques (9), Baldé (7) & Hamdani

SANNOIS v RED STAR. Following the article published in Le Parisien on the incidents after the game at Sannois, Red Stars' Gang Green published a statement exercising their right to reply to the article.
The Gang Green state firstly that they are NOT a hooligan outfit, but are a group of Ultras who support their club through thick and thin. Secondly, concerning the newspapers' remarks on PSG hooligans infiltrating the Red Star support, the Gang Green do not hold a monoply on supporting the club, and that anyone is free to come to support Red Star.
Concerning the incidents at the end of the ESSG - Red Star game, the Gang Green admit that whilst being stupid to respond to the provocation of the ESSG kop, the people involved were drawn into a trap.
But the incidents at Sannois were a one-off. (It is true that in all of the away games this season, Red Star fans have been noisy but well-behaved).
As for the intervention of the boys in blue, is is true that the police were present after the final whistle, but merely as observers - they had no cause to intervene and merely watched from a distance.
Meanwhile, the Red Star independant supporters association, Le Collectif des Amis du Red Star (more moderate supporters) also published a statement:
The statement basically said that the association disapproved of the post-match events and that these could damage Red Stars' image which has taken a bit of a battering in recent years. The events have also tarnished the reputation of all Red Star fans, even the less vociferous ones. The association stresses the importance of respect of all Red Star supporters, referees, opponents and their supporters.

300 000 ! Todays, all being well, the French version of AllezRedStar.com should pass the 300 000 hits mark. What is more amazing is that at the start of the season 2004-2005 we had just passed the 200 000 point, so that makes an awful lot of interest in a Division Six (DH) club since the start of the season !
Red Star is unique in France - even some D3 clubs would be jealous of the interest in the club.
All we can say is thank you, and please please please keep coming back to the site - who knows, one day in the very near future perhaps we can celebrate the millionth conenction, and even better, the 300 000th connection to the English version of the site !!
Meanwhile, during the close season AllezRedStar.com will be having a closer look at its format and will be looking to develop even further, with new concepts, ideas and bright new areas of the club to explore. Just keep looking at this space.

PIERRE POUYAUD.

Pierre Pouyaud
Pierre Pouyaud, currently residing in the Oise region, is one of our most loyal visitors. In a few days time he will be 77 years old, and present at Bauer last Sunday, he gave us this precious document to put on the site; his playing registration for Red Star Olympique Audonien from 1947 as well as a photo of Red Stars' reserves from that year. (Anyone spot a remarkable resemblence to Cliff Richard ?)

THREE MATCHES. Vincent Fourneuf, Red Stars' influential defender has been handed a three match ban following his sending off at Sannois.
DH ROUND-UP
MEAUX - SANNOIS SAINT-GRATIEN : 3-0 (1-0). Goals : Baldé, Jankowski (48), Bahri (81)
ARMENIENNE - BRETIGNY : 1-0 (0-0). Goal : Akoun (70)
ORLY - SAINT-LEU : 3-1 (1-0). Goals : Rose-Serville (5), Fayo (51), Diawara (56) - Goudjil (84)
LE MEE SPORTS - EVRY : 1-0 (0-0). Goal : M’Béga (31)
MORANGIS-CHILLY - VERSAILLES : 1-0 (0-0). Goal : Ruffe (85)
AUBERVILLIERS - COSMO : 0-0
LOW SCORING. Fifteen goals scored in total, a third of these at Stade Bauer. Other than Red Star, the DH was pretty gril viewing this weekend ! Not just low scoring, either, but some fairly dire attendances. There were two hundred at the top of the table clash between Meaux and Sannois.
MARKSMEN Meanwhile in the goalscorers table, Shatrit (Saint-Leu) and Tandia (Red Star) are still ahead, despite both failing to find the target this weekend. Third is Daoud (Le Mée Sports) with 13 but coming up fast is our very own Azzedine Benmesmoudi with 12.

Red Star - Lusitanos
Red Star celebrate at the end of Sundays' game

UNDER 18s. A win over Brétigny 2-1 but the Under 18s are still eight points adrift of leaders ACBB who beat Les Lilas 3-2. Red Star do have a game in hand, though, and there are still four games left before the end of the season, including a real eight-pointer against their rivals from Boulogne.
RESERVES. the DHR beat Cosmo 2-1 and are comfortably installed in the top part of the table. Some of coach Francesco Scarattis' men will be in Coupe de Paris action tomorrow evening against Arménienne, kick off 8-30pm CET at Stade Bauer. Speaking of Stade Bauer, the end of the season promises to be tough for the pitch, with games due to be played there on April 24th, 27th and 30th !

Updated 25th April 2005

ITS OFFICIAL - WE'RE OFFICIAL !. During the meeting with the supporters held before the Lusitanos game on Sunday at Stade Bauer, club President M. Bruno Davoine announced that AllezRedStar.com and Red Star FC 93 have joined together in a partnership, which means that this site is effectively the official site of Red Star FC 93. We are proud to work with the club - now we can bring you even more exclusives, the club can express itself with a very popular mouthpiece. Of course we will keep the same high standards, boosted by input from the club and we will especially be focussing on the youth teams of Red Star. Please don't hesitate to give us your view etc : john@allezredstar.com.

Red Star - Lusitanos
Eric Charrier & Bruno Davoine break the news to the supporters

Have no fear, the English version of the site will continue to exist, making Red Star FC 93 one of the most international clubs in France !
BACK TO THE TOP !. Previous incumbents Sannois Saint-Gratien went down 3-0 at Meaux which means that Red Star are back on top of the table, ahead of Morangis-Chilly whom struggled somewhat to beat Versailles 1-0. Saint-Leu seriously compromised their promotion push with a 1-3 defeat at in-form Orly whereas Le Mée Sports keep up the pressure beating Evry 1-0. Elsewhere : Aubervilliers - Cosmo 0-0 and Arménienne beat Brétigny 1-0.
THE TABLE. 1. RED STAR 61 pts, 2. Morangis-Chilly 61 pts, 3. Meaux 60 pts, 4. Sannois Saint-Gratien 59 pts, 5. Le Mée Sports 57 pts, 6. Saint-Leu 56 pts, 7. Cosmo 52 pts, 8. Orly 50 pts, 9. Lusitanos 47 pts, 10. Arménienne 45 pts, 11. Aubervilliers 44 pts, 12. Evry 42 pts, 13. Versailles 42 pts, 14. Brétigny 40 pts.
CHANGES. The suspensions of Vincent Fourneuf & Bilal Hammami and the resting of the tired Taïeb Abdallah meant the returns of Franck Gueï (suspended last weekend), Ahmed Hamdani and the arrival of Abrahim Tounkara, a reserve team player. Born 4th March 1981, he has been with Red Star for a few seasons now, and was once on the teamsheet for a CFA 2 game back in 2002. Before Red Star, Abrahim played for Montmartre (PH). Abrahim featured in Red Stars' Coupe de Paris 2-0 victory at Bauer this season against Drancy.

Red Star - Lusitanos
Warm-up: Azzedine Benmesmoudi, Abrahim Tounkara, Nabile Yessad and Reevis N’Simba

WHITE AND GREEN. As Lusitanos play in a green and red kit, Red Star played in white yesterday, with green shorts. Not quite as pretty as the usual kit, but at least it's green and white ! Incidentally, Red Star also played in white earlier this season in a Coupe de France match at Saint-Brice. Incidentally, if you'd like to buy a replica first-team shirt, these are now available in sizes L, XL & XXL at the bargain price of 50 euros plus post & packing. Contact us for details : john@allezredstar.com
ATTENDANCE. A good turn out on a cloudy Sunday afternoon for the match, including several supporters for the visitors, which is a rare sight at Bauer these days. Bravo Lusitanos, and bravo the impeccably-behaved Red Star faithful, noisy as usual, but this time no flares and nothing unpleasant to report. The game was marred, however, by an object thrown by some imbecile resident in the block of flats behind the goal. Prat.

Red Star - Lusitanos
Decent turn out, including these supporters from Lusitanos.

REST. No training session this evening, but the schedule for the week has been modified slightly due to the game being played on Saturday evening. Don't forget that on Wednesday evening Red Star have a Coupe de Paris quarter final against Arméninenne, where coach Jean-Luc Girard will most likely give a run out to some of his fringe players as well as some of the clubs' youngsters. With Arménienne not yet sure of safety from relegation themselves, it is not sure that the visitors will field a full-strength side either. Why not pop along for the game, probably better entertainment that the stuff offered on TV that evening !
RESERVES WIN. Red Stars' reserves beat the reserves of Cosmo 2-1 with goals from Philippe Marques & Alhaji Baldé, both in the reckoning for a game on Wednesday evening. Success also in the Under 18s, who beat Brétigny 2-1. Full results round-up tomorrow on this site.

DH ROUND-UP. Le Mée Sports and Cosmo could only draw 1-1, thus seriously compromising their respective promotion hopes. Saint-Leu are back in the thick of things following their 5-0 thumping of Aubervilliers. Versailles slumped 1-5 at home to fast-recovering Orly, whereas also at the bottom Arménienne managed to take a point off Lusitanos in a 0-0 draw. Morangis-Chilly, one-time leaders failed at lanterne rouge club Brétigny 1-2 and Meaux also lost in a surprise 2-1 defeat at Evry.
TABLE. All these results means that Red Star are still hanging in there in the top five, where only three points separate the group.
1. Sannois Saint-Gratien 58 pts, 2. Red Star 57 pts, 3. Morangis-Chilly 57 pts, 4. Meaux 56 pts, 5. Saint-Leu 55 pts, 6. Le Mée Sports 53 pts, 7. Cosmo 50 pts, 8. Lusitanos 45 pts, 9. Orly 42 pts, 10. Aubervilliers 42 pts, 11. Versailles 41 pts, 12. Evry 41 pts (1 game in hand), 13. Arménienne 41 pts, 14. Brétigny 39 pts (1 game in hand).
NEXT MATCHES. Red Star are at home to Lusitanos, there is a huge match at Meaux where Sannois Saint-Gratien are the visitors. Morangis-Chilly take on Versailles in free-fall and Saint-Leu travel to in-form Orly.
BAD DAY (cont.). Red Stars' under 18s went down 2-1 at Paris FC. In the Coupe de Paris, Versailles are Red Stars' next opponents.
RESERVES. A bright spot of the day was the reserves 1-0 win against ACBB 1-0. Full results service tomorrow.
THIRD TIME LUCKY. Aboubacar Tandia was obliged to take his penalty kick three times - the first time hi shot wide, but a Sannois player had encroached into the area; the second kick was much better, but again ruled out for encroachement. Finally the third one, the best of the three was validated by the referee. Aboubacar is still on top of the goalscorers' list, but has been joined by Saint-Leus' Shatrit who banged in four against hapless Aubervilliers.

ESSG - Red Star
Third time lucky for Tandia

OH NO IT'S A RED CARD. Just after Ententes' Lybohy, Vincent Fourneuf also went to warm the water in the showers for his team mates. Vince will miss the next game. Meanwhile fellow central defender Nabile Yessad received a boot in the face at the end of the match and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
INTERESTED SPECTATOR. Ex-Red Star man Yoann Delaneuville was on hand with his family to watch his erstwhile team mates. Yoanns' current club, Pau, was beaten the evening before...by Sannois' first XI in the National. Yoann missed the game through suspension.

ESSG - Red Star

ON THE BOX. Val d’Oise Television was on hand to record the game - normally highlights will be shown this evening on TV VO

VITAL CLASH. Okay, so all the matches up to the end of the season are vital, but Sundays' clash is a real eight-pointer; Red Star have a two-point advantage over their hosts Sannois-Saint-Gratien, and a win for the Green & Whites would extend this lead even further. Given that their two nearest rivals have relatively easy tasks on Sunday (Meaux play Evry and Morangis take on bottom club Brétigny), a win is vital to keep the pressure on. Previous trips to the Val d'Oise have been reasonably succesful (a win at Saint-Leu and a draw at Cosmo). Sannois might be sneaky and put one or two first teamers in the starting line-up, but the first XI are still in the running for promotion to L2. The evening before they travel to ex-Red Star man Yoann Delaneuvilles' Pau.

TRAINSPOTTERS' DELIGHT

Arménienne - Red Star
The RER line from Paris to Versailles and the southern suburbs runs behind the main stand at Issy. Also in the area are the offices of satellite TV company TPS and L'Equipe, the national sports daily newspaper.

SOME FIGURES. Following the home defeat to Cosmo, when it looked as if it was all over for another season, Red Star were some ten points behind then-leaders Meaux with a game in hand. Since January, Red Star have taken 25 pts, Sannois Saint-Gratien 23, Morangis-Chilly 19, Meaux 14, Le Mée Sports 11, Cosmo 11. THOSE TWO ALL-IMPORTANT GOALS

Arménienne - Red Star
34th minute : Cabouret flaps at a Ouattara corner. 1-0 for the Red Star

Arménienne - Red Star
89th minute : Taïeb Abdallah floats in a free kick, Azzedine Benmesmoudi buries the ball in the net with a fine header. 2-1 to the Red Star

TOP OF THE TABLE. The last-gasp goal means that Red Star go top of the DH For the first time this season. Oddly enough, no-one realised this at the end of the match because the rumour going round was that Meaux had done Morangis 1-0. Two hours later (news travels slowly in the sixth level of French football) and the 0-0 draw was finally announced - Red Star had gone top.
This is Red Stars' second double of the season, having earlier beat Arménienne 3-0 at Bauer. Last week the 6-0 win against Versailles was the first double, Red Star having won 1-0 at Versailles. Last season they only managed one double, the victims being Paris Saint-Germain. Prior to that, the last double was in the 2001-2002 season when Red Star beat Dunkerque 2-1 and 4-1.
VICTORY FOR BOUBOU. « Boubou », Jean-Luc Girards' right hand man recently lost his mother and the players dedicated this win to him as a mark of respect. Solidarity at the club.

Arménienne - Red Star

Jean-Luc Girard had stuck to the same squad that had thumped Versailles the weekend before, with the exception of KABA DIOMANDE in the place of soon-to-be-suspended Franck Gueï.
PHILIPPE CUERVO could be heard during the warm-up encouraging his team mates, saying that this was virtually a home game, and that this would be THE day for the players. He was right too ! Goalkeeper YANN BELL emphasized the role of the veteran amongst the youngsters, saying also that Phil has become something of a lucky mascot !
AZZEDINE BENMESMOUDI very nearly missed the game - at the end of training Thursday evening, he was carrying a light knock on his ankle. Luckily this did not prevent Red Stars' goal hero from playing. He said that this goal means more than the bagful he got last weekend.

YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE AT HOME.... Red Star massed their away fans on Sunday, making noise throughout the game, making the extra man on the pitch for the players. Around a hundred turned out for the game - no other club in the DH is capable of such an away support.
Also out in force were Red Stars' directors, including club President Mr Bruno Davoine. A far cry from the dark days a few years ago when none whatsover were present. Ex-Red Star men, now at Les Lilas Enis Saïti and Salam Mahdjoub were also present at Issy.

EN ROUTE FOR ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX. Red Star prepare for the importantant clash on Sunday at Issy-les-Moulineaux, a stadium reasonably easy to get to, being well served by RER, tram Métro and road, although parking around the ground is a bit difficult - you might have to walk a bit. Remember in the match earlier this season, Red Star beat Arménienne for the first time in the DH by 3-0, the goals coming from Kaba Diomande, Jimmy Hamme and goalscoring machine Aboubacar Tandia opened his scoring account for the club.

ALSO IN THE DH. Of course the main match in the DH this weekend takes place at Issy-les-Moulineaux, but elsewhere there is an equally important match taking place at Meaux where leaders Morangis-Chilly take on 2nd place Meaux. Just one point separates the two clubs. Elsewhere there is a Val d'Oise Derby between Saint-Leu (6th) and Sannois - Saint-Gratien (5th). Le Mée Sports (4th) have a tricky trip to Orly (11th). Versailles (10th) play Lusitanos (8th), Aubervilliers (9th) v Evry (13th) and Cosmo (7th) welcome Brétigny (14th).
BAD MEMORIES. The last time Red Star travelled to Issy for a championship game, on the 24th August 2003, the brand-new Red Star FC 93 went down 0-1 to a sucker punch goal after a promising debut. (Goal by Dimnet, in the last minutes). Coached by Azzedine Meguellatti, the team was : Néret, Carles, Fourneuf, Hammami, Gueï, Matingou, Jalliti, Budoc, Milome, Fellahi, Desmarets. Subs : Ziwo, Oure & N’Guifoukou. Of that lot, Only Vince Fourneuf, Bilal Hammami, Franck Gueï (man of the match on that day) and Jérémy Budoc are still at the club. Mounir Jalliti has since moved on to Arménienne.

NOT THEM AGAIN !. As well as a championship meeting, Red Star also play the quarter finals of the Coupe de Paris against Arménienne. The match, which takes place at Bauer, must be played before the 27th of April.
The rest of the draw : Morangis-Chilly - Les Lilas, Choisy-le-Roi - Sannois Saint-Gratien, Neauphle - Lusitanos.
SUSPENDED. Franck Gueï will miss the trip to Sannois Saint-Gratien through suspension.
UNDER 18s. After the cup victory in the pouring rain, it's back to championship action on Sunday against Le Mée Sports, kick off 1-30pm CET at the Parc des Sports, Bobigny. On the 17th Red Star come up against PFC again.

RESERVES. Red Stars' reserves target this season was to consolidate in the DHR as well as blooding new players in preparation for greater things. Both targets have been achieved, and now sixth in the table, with a game in hand, Francesco Scarattis' men aim to push further up the table.
UNDER 14s. Red Star travel to leaders Lens. Can they pull off a shock ?

COUPE DE PARIS (seniors): The draw has been made for the quarter finals of the Coupe de Paris - Red Star have been drawn at home to.. ARMENIENNE. No doubt coach Jean-Luc Girard will rotate his squad and field some of the young prospects at the club.

COUPE DE PARIS. Last night, in torrential rain, Red Stars' under 18s progressed through to the last eight of the Under 18s Coupe de Paris in beating Paris FC 3-2. Leading 2-0 at half time, Red Star went further ahead in the second half only to let Paris back into the tie with two goals, setting up the last twenty minutes or so for a classic cup encounter. A great atmosphere at Bauer, despite the poor conditions and Champions' League football on the TV, some hundred or so spectators turning out to cheer Red Stars' youngsters on. Several regulars to first-team games swelled the crowd, which is more than some clubs get for DH matches !

AUBERVILLIERS - MEAUX: THE DECISION. The Ligue de Paris have decided to punish both clubs following the pre-match incidents back in February. The mass punch-up between the players has led to the match being "lost" for both clubs, zero points awarded. The two clubs have decided to appeal against the decision (which might result in something worse....) Affair to be followed on AllezRedStar.com.
MEETING . On Sunday April 24th (Lusitanos, home), before the match at Stade Bauer, there will be a public meeting organised by the Collectif des Amis du Red Star where Red Stars' president Mr Bruno Davoine, as well as fellow director Christian Duraincie will be present. GOTCHA !. Those of you who were taken in by the announcement on this site that the Meaux game on the 1st of May would be played at Stade Marville, this was in fact an April fool. The game will be played at Stade Bauer, as is usual. Gotcha !

Behind are Diawara (Morangis-Chilly) - 11, Shatrit (Saint-Leu) - 10 and Azzedine Benmesmoudi - 9. Red Star have the best attack in the championship with 36 goals, two more than their nearest rivals.

TOMORROW AT BAUER. Red Stars' under 18s have a Coupe de Paris game against Paris FC. Last season, the under 18s were the first "new" Red Star team to lift a trophy.

SPRING IN HIS STEP.

Red Star - Versailles
Azzedine Benmesmoudi - EIGHT goals in three games !

JEAN-LUC GIRARD. Red Stars' coach admitted that the sending off of Versailles' goalie swung the game in Red Stars' favour, but it took Red Star some time to fully cash in on the situation. But after a while the players realised that the best thing to do was to shoot on sight, and this they did. Versailles, Thierry Bocquet, sportingly agreed that whilst the sending-off hampered affairs, Red Star were still a class above his honest outfit.

Red Star - Versailles
Bilal Hammami opens the scoring

STATISTICS4, 5 and 6 - Red Star in their last three games at Bauer seem to score one more goal than in the previous game. Hopefully this will build a "fortress Bauer" syndrome, positive for Red Star and at the same time striking some trepidation into visiting teams. Incidentally, the last man to score four times in a game for Red Star was … Steve Marlet against Lorient, in D2 back on the 30th March 1996 - Red Star won 4-0.

TABLE. 1. Morangis-Chilly 54 pts, 2. Meaux 53 pts, 3. Red Star 52 pts, 4. Le Mée Sports 50, 5. Sannois Saint-Gratien 50 pts, 6. Saint-Leu 50 pts, 7. Cosmo 46 pts, 8. Lusitanos 40 pts, 9. Aubervilliers 40 pts, 10. Versailles 39 pts, 11. Orly 38 pts, 12. Arménienne 38 pts, 13. Evry 33 pts (1 game in hand), 14 Brétigny 33 pts (1 game in hand).
NEW SIGNING ?. Not quite, but former Red Star goalkepper, currently the number one at Racing Club de Lens, Charles Itandje was present at Stade Bauer on Sunday to see his former clubs' impressive performance

MEAUX MATCH SWITCH. In view of the number of matches to be played at the end of April / beginning of May at Stade Bauer, Saint-Ouen town council and Red Star FC 93 together with coach Jean-Luc Girard have decided to switch the Meaux game on the 1st of May to Stade Marville, La Courneuve. This is to give the pitch at Bauer a break from intensive usage. The match will take place at 8pm CET. A bus will be laid on for supporters to ferry fans to the temporary home, where Red Star played for three and a half seasons, as well as playing Paris FC reserves in a championship match last season. More information will appear on this site.
