Also available at the front page of the site is the updated squad list for the season 2007-2008, complete with photos of all the players.
In the news recently, and for all the wrong reasons is Steeve Théophile, Red Stars' ephemeral striker, who less then 48 hours after joining the Saint-Ouen club quit to sign for CFA rivals Racing. It appears that Steeve, along with a friend, took part in a car race along the A15 motorway recently in the Parisian suburbs. Swerving in and out of traffic at half past ten in the morning, at speeeds up to 150km/h, the pair are locked up at the police station in Deuil-la-Barre. Steeve, who has played football in Belgium as well as for Gueugnon, Créteil and Istres, wil have to explain as well what he was doing behind the wheel of a car when he doesn't actually have a driving licence. Oups !

SECOND WIN On a sunny Saturday afternoon at the CFDAS in Eaubonne, Red Star eased past visitors Chantilly 2-0 with goals from Grégory Lefort in the first half and Ibou Tounkara just after the break. Starting the first half with Djidonou - Lacomat, Haguy, Tounkara, Pinto - Fardin, Negrèche, Lux, Lefort, Robert and Ouattara, Red Star proved too strong for their opponents, recently promoted back into the CFA 2 after an absence of one season. Several good chances went begging before finally Greg Lefort got his head, unmarked, onto a cross from the right by Sébastien Robert. Prior to the goal, Lefort had rattled the crossbar with a stinging shot and the same player also fired into the side netting from a difficult angle. Positive performance for the first half, whereas the second was a little les lively. Coach Bruno Naidon rang the changes for the second half, bringing on Alexandre Diatta, José N'Seke, Hernane Cavaleiro, Abdenour Nemir, Mamadou Sow, Bouzid Yosri, Mickaël Marquet, Elysée M'Banza, Noël Moukila and Loïc Ghili. AllezRedStar.com were present at the game and some action photos will be shortly published. The training camp at Eaubonne, with the excellent facilities is now over, training will take place back at Stade Bauer.

Continuing the family name is football is his son, a promising goalkeeper.
How did your return to Red Star come about ?
« I already knew Bruno Naidon, we played alongside each other at Vincennes. I was looking for a club to restart my coaching career, he put me in touch with Eric Santamaria and here I am as assistant coach to Bruno Naidon. »
A new Red Star for you.
« Yes and no. Yes in terms of the players and the clubs' directors. There has been a complete renewal. No, in terms of the facilities at the club, nothing hs changes, Bauer has aged a bit but the environment is still there - apart from one stand ! »
YOur role as assistant ?
« To be close to Bruno Naidon, participate the maximum in the life of the team in terms of tatics and technique. This season, Red Star will have the services of the physio Gilbert Hernandez whom will also do the physical preparations, a very important role when preparing for a season. »
Following a good first season in the CFA, what are the objectives of Red Star ?
« To go one step better, aim to finish as high as possible »
Lots of long away trips in store for Red Star
« It's up to us to tackles them as best as possible. »
The presence of six resrve teams in the group.
« A thorny issue, above all when from one week to the next a pro club reserve team can change completely. We have a compact group, it's up to our team to adapt itself to the different styles of play of our opponents. Facing a pro club reserve team is also a great motivation.… »

ASSISTANT COACH UNVEILED. Red Star yesterday unveiled their new assistant coach. Seconding Bruno Naidon next season will be Jean-Marc BRUCATO, whom is no stranger to Stade Bauer having worn the green shirt of Red Star from 1988 to 1994. We would like to welcome back Jean-Marc and wish him much success with Red Star FC 93. We hope to bring you an exclusive interview with Jean-Marc very soon.
REACTIONS.... to the announcement of the CFA groups for the seson 2007-2008. Mishi, supporter of Red Star and Dulwich, South London says "The CFA division is terrible: Having gone to Dieppe at the end of last season we were looking forward to visiting Rouen, or somewhere else in Normandy. But now the away games will be too awkward, so it will only be a home visit to Bauer sometime this season. Us 'Cockney Greens' are not happy !". Too right, mate, but then again, with low-cost flights to Geneva available, how about a nice trip to Thonon for when Red Star play Croix-de-Savoie ?

CFA GROUPS ANNOUNCED. The FFF have published the groups for the forthcoming CFA season. There has been considerable reshuffling of the groups, so whereas last season Red Star were in a group that took in the west of France, with several local derbies thrown in (Poissy, PSG, Villemomble, Saint-Geneviève, Moissy), this term Red Star will have to look eastwards. In fact, the closest away game is some 100 miles away, near Reims, in Epernay ! No local derbies at all. Here is the group:
AUXERRE B
BELFORT ASM
BESANCON
CROIX DE SAVOIE
EPERNAY RC
EPINAL
JURA SUD FOOT
LYON B
METZ B
MONTCEAU FC BOURGOGNE
MULHOUSE
NANCY B
RAON L'ETAPE
SOCHAUX B
SAINT PRIEST
STRASBOURG B
VESOUL
For some of the more obscure club names, Croix de Savoie play at Thonon-les-Bains, by the side of Lake Geneva and Jura Sud Foot are based mid-way between Bourg-en-Bresse and Geneva. A quick calculation reveals that Red Star will have to travel over 13000km this season, as opposed to 7600 last season. Looking around the other groups, four local clubs Poissy, PSG, Saint-Geneviève and Moissy are in group D, which means away trips to the south-west including Anglet and Biarritz (virtualy in Spain !) as well as two trips to face the two Bordeaux clubs in that divsion. Racing, another local club have "inherited" Red Stars' old group, shifted slightly northwards this season to include Lille and Lens, amongst others. Perhaps the bizzarest change is in the CFA 2 group H, composed almost entirely of Parisian region clubs, except for.... Bastia reserves, based in Corsica !!
