FIRST WIN AT BAUER Red Star recorded their first home success of the season at Bauer on Saturday, beating visitors Raon l'Etape 2-1 with goals from Taimmy Negreche (penalty) and Noël Moukila. It was a case of the result being more important than the method by which it was obtained, as Red Star struggled somewhat against an ordinary Raon side, lacking in confidence. The result shoots Bruno Naidons' side up to the heady heights of fifth in the table, with seven games played. Leaders Besançon could only manage a draw at Strasbourg reserves, but Vesoul and Saint-Priest both recorded wins to step up the pressure on the Bisontins. Visitors to Bauer on Saturday were Gilles Marchand, currently residing in Las Vegas. Gilles last set foot in Stade Bauer some thirty five years ago, and took the opportunity of a visit to see the game on Saturday. Also Raon l'Etape had their travelling support present, three loyal supporters whom had made the very long trip to see their favourites. Bravo lads !
Also this weekend, Red Stars' second XI had no game due to it being Coupe de France weekend, whilst the third string had their game against Pantin called off when the visitors failed to make the encounter. The visitors also failed to show up in the futsal encounter so Red Star had a quiet weekend too. Red Stars' ladies did however beat their counterparts from Colombes 7-1 in a friendly game.

FIVE COSTLY MINUTES Red Star coach Bruno admitted on Saturday that five minutes at the start of the second half proved to be costly as his side slipped to a 2-1 away defeat at the hands of Auxerres' reserves. In the first half Red Star had been more than a match for their professional opponents. With Taimmy Negreche sidelined with gasttric problems the day before the game, Greg Lefort took his place in the starting line-up. Elysée M'Banza started the game wearing the number seven shirt, Moussa Ouattara dropping down to the bench and alongside him in the dugout was Loïc Ghili, making his first appearance this season with the first XI. After a first half where Red Star were the better side, a spell of five minutes proved to be fatal. Traore netted the first goal for the home side before a defensie cock up moments later allowed Auxerre to double their lead. The introduction of Ghili galvanised Red Star however and the youngster was on hand to reduce arrears with twelve minutes remaining. However the hoem side hung on to retain their victory.
