Honours : DH champions, 2004-2005
Valenciennes' first team play in L2, and are currently in the top three.

Note that the reserves can only gain promotion if the first team manages promotion to the top flight of French football. Currently in the frame for a return to the first division, after years of struggle following the infamous affair with the Olympique de Marseille of Bernard Tapie in the 1990s, the reserves could also be promoted should they win the CFA 2, but with a large points deficit with leaders Red Star, some work needs to be done. Despite Valenciennes' lowly position, Red Star will have to be extra vigilant on Sunday.
