The ground is a good walk away from the nearest train station, and is situated in a leafy suburb of Paris, far removed from the usual images of the "93" that one sees on television. There is one stand, which is effectively some seats bolted on to the roof of the changing room block, with a curving roof to cover the spectators. There is a running track which means that one is far away from the action. Opposite is a railway line in a cutting, but there is a bank of terracing that starts at the edge of one penalty area and rising, curves around to start its way behind the goals only to suddenly end. When we played there in 2004 this terrace was closed off by a red and white plastic tape, but this did not prevent people from actually standing on the banking. Should Villemomble be promoted to Frances' third level of football, then either some large-scale work will be involved to bring the ground up to a reasonable standard, or the club will be forced to play its home games away from the Stade Pompidou. © AllezRedStar.com 2006
