A POINT SAVED

Substitute Djabranne Abda saved a point for Red Star 93 with a late late equaliser. His goal now must be a stepping stone for the club to rediscover themselves and to renew hope for the future.
A fair result, the draw, with advantage territorially and shot-wise to the home side. Red Star went close with shots from Tacalfred (16), Aïchour (20) then a Laurent Castro free kick went narrowly over the bar (22). Red Stars defence received warnings with a raid by Akpakoum finding Brangers' side netting in the 26th minute. Just before the pause Van Kets fired a powerful shot just wide of the target.
After the pause, Gomis (46) then Van Kets with a fine header onto the bar from a Laurent Castro run-and-cross. However, on the break Red Star were caught napping and Demindjian opened the scoring for the visitors. Jacky Lemée made several changes, and the introduction of the youngster Abda paid dividends. Into injury tile, the home side could have wrapped up the points. Although far from being the force they should be, the signs are there that things are getting better.
