A NIGHT TO FORGET

The report of this game is brought to you by our correspondant Jacky, who took the time to send us an e-mail upon his return at one o'clock in the morning to his home in Bayonne from Pau. Incidentally, if any supporters wish to contribute match reports, please feel free to send them to jwh@multimania.com.

"I have just got back home and my disappointment outweighs my tiredness. I'm a little like the players - completely disorientated. One just had to watch Jean-Marc Branger taking the coach alone, sad. I only watched Red Star for one half - the second half. In the first half I was indeed watching players wearing red shirts, but certainly not a professional club with a 25 million franc budget. Beaten to every ball, outpaced, but with an individual talent greater than their counterparts from Pau, but which had no purpose at all. Long balls hoofed forwards only for the strikers to be caught offside nine times out of ten. Then again, I am mistaken - in all Red Star couldn't manage to create ten openings. Apart from perhaps Saxemard, no-one escapes my criticisms. And in the second half total domination but totally sterile. I hope that I know nothing about football, because now I'm starting to worry... Jacky annoyed and disappointed..."
