REPELLINI CONFIDENT

We didn't make the long long trip to Alès, so it's difficult to make a judgement on the game. We did, however, speak to coach Pierre Repellini, present at Marville after coming back from Alès. Despite the result, Repellini appeared confident. He told us "We dominated Alès everywhere for eighty minutes. We still have a couple of problems (referring to the goals) but given our performance, I'm satisfied. Kader Ferhaoui and Laurent Castro both had very good games, better days are on the way and we have to put together back-to-back wins in our next two games."

To go back to the game, Alès opened the scoring on 6 minutes, striker Stéphane Millereau beating Jean-Marc Branger with a header. Driven by Kader Ferhaoui, Red Star fought back and as in the match earlier in the season at Marville, Sylvain Sansone was kept busy. Mickaël PIZZO, back in league action powered home a fine shot to finally beat the Alès goalkeeper in the 44th minute.
In the second half, the Reds continued to press, but fell victim to the very first attack of the half for Alès and Millereau scored his second of the evening on the hour. Despite bringing on strikers Jolibois and Rangdet Red Star could not find a way back into the game and so the three points for the home side means that they have twice as many points as Red Star, despite lying in twelfth place ! The derby game against Noisy in two weeks time could prove to be vital in the battle against the drop to the CFA.
