HUMILIATION

(Rough translation of the French version of Gérard, embelished a tad)...No point beating around the bush, once again Red Star have lost the plot, in an empty stadium with less than four hundred spectators present. Okay, so there was competition in the form of the televised matches on Canal + (Lyon v Nantes & Paris SG v Lens), but in all honesty the poor turn out was simply due to the fact that Red Star are poor with poor results.

A sluggish start to the game, apart from a probing run from Perron (3rd minute), a free kick from Hebbar dealt with without difficulty by Bayiha (9), a harmless effort from Castro following a good solo run (21). In the 24th minute, set up well, captain Kader Ferhaoui wasted a good opportunity, placing the ball wide to the left of Chauray. Noisy reacted though Hebbar, a powerful drive held by Bayiha (26). From Red Stars' first corner in the 33rd minute, Serreau curled a ball onto the head of Saragaglia but went narrowly over. A second opportunity came from new recruit Emmanuel Hutteau, but the Noisy goalkeeper repelled the danger.

In the second half, the home support was hoping to see their team step up a gear but to everyones' surprise Noisy ttook the upper hand and in the 50th minute, a cross from Hebbar found Lounis Sandjak in front of a static defence, and he opened the scoring (0-1). Minutes later, before Kader Ferhaouis' men had the chance to wake up, it was two, defender Moké Kajima finding the net (0-2). A stunned Red Star made two changes, taking off Ferhaoui and Castro, bringing on Saci and Abda, the latter returning to the first team. Hakim Saci, once again back at Marville following the stalemate of his move to Madrid, created space out wide and hit a powerful 78th minute drive. Noisy-le-Sec found themsleves down to ten with fifteen minutes remaining but still controlled the game. However, following a mix-up in the Noisy penalty area, Maatit somehow managed to put the ball into his own goal to reduce the arrears (1-2). But too little too late, and Monsieur Galetti signalled the end of the encounter. Noisy happy, Red Star supporters trailed out of Marville in mourning for their team, which is pursuing its inexorable slide into the CFA.
