CONDEMNED BY A CAT

Red Stars' brief spell in the National has effectively been ended by one dubious refereeing decision. With only eight minutes on the clock, and Pacy already one up through a Hameau goal, Red Stars' promising young goalkeeper raced out of his penalty area to clear his lines only for the ball to bounce on the appalling surface, and according to the offical, on to Charles' arm. To the disgust of the Red Star players and the twenty or so fans who had bothered to make the relatively short journey, and to the surprise of the Pacy crowd, the referee Monsieur Chat (Mister Cat, in English) waved the red card.
A very harsh decision, in view of the state of the pitch and the fact that it was borderline as to whether the ball had hit his arm, and indeed if Itandje had attempted to control the ball. Whatever the outcome, the game was all but won for Pacy, as outfield player Dambou Traoré took the gloves and took his place between the sticks for Red Star.
In all fairness to Traoré he did remarkably well, parrying a couple of shots and then diving full stretch to turn a fierce drive away. In fornt of him the inept defensive performances of Messrs Richard and Perron offered little or no protection, and he ws caught exposed as Dufour fired past him into the top of the net. The opening goal was completely the fault of Richard - the lumbering Red Star defender won a free kick for his side, then contrived to kick the ball twice at the free kick, thus awarding a free kick in a dangerous place to the home side. Worse, the piledriver from Hameau was deflected by the aforementioned Richard past his own goalkeeper.
Pacy scored a third on the stroke of half time, Dufour doubling his tally with a well placed shot past Traoré. Red Star shook things up at the break, Thiam replacing the hopelessly ineffective Perron, and Saci giving way to Price Jolibois. The latter tried to inject a little pace into Red Stars' forays, and together with Pizzo and stand-in 'keeper Traoré was the best of a bad bunch. Pacy rarely threatened Traoré in the second half, content to pocket three points without taking risks.
So a miserable evening for Red Star, the mini-unbeaten run ends in the habitual bizarre fashion, nothing is simple at Red Star. One Red Star supporter became incensed at the refereeing decisions, accusing the officials of wanting to kill off Red Star. Maybe he has a point ? Pacy could also be doomed to CFA football next season, too.
Pacys' ground is terrible - no cover for standing spectators, jobsworth stewards, one or two obnoxious inbreed supporters such as the loudmouth spotty specimen stood just behind who tried to wind us up all through the second half. And yes, we made the trip to Pacy to atch the game - he probably didn't go to La Courneuve, having never left the village in all his miserable life ! Sod off and sod off Pacy.
