EVER WISHED YOU'D NOT BOTHERED ?

The sun shone, it was a glorious Saunday afternoon, and the prospect of a nice long bike ride into the countryside was the bst option... but no, Red Star had an away game across the city in Créteil... quite frankly, the bike would have been an inifinitely better option.
Firstly, the Periph was jammed around the exit for Vincennes, then upon arriving in Créteil, a concrete city in the south-east of the Ile de France, the road maps bore no resemblance to reality. Thus, a trip to the wrong Stadium, another to Choisy-le-Roi (useful for later on in the season), a detour to Bonneuil (missed the exit) before turning up twenty minutes into the match at the Stade Duvauchelle.
I had missed nothing. Red Star were rubbish and deserved to lose. The hosts weren't that much better, it has to be said, and a goal just after the hour following a period of sustained pressure sealed the win. Red Star never threatened - Marques showed that he was completely out of his depth - perhaps if he had stayed on his feet instead of perpetually looking for fouls, then things might have been different. The only threat came from Doumbya, but not a great deal. In defence, Santos erred between woeful and some excellent tackling, using his strength. Apart from that, and the promising, if a tad lazy, debut of Nemouthé, nothing. In the dying seconds, Nabile Yessad took an early batch following a goalmouth scuffle, but it could be a case of mistaken identity.
Bloody rubbish, next time we have a sunny day, the bike might just get a second look...
