OFF TO A GOOD START
Red Star got off to a flying start in their 2007-2008 campaign with a hard-fought win in the Jura. Exciting new signing Taïmmy NEGRECHE got the visitors on the right footing with a fine goal, hammered into the roof of the net after only six minutes of play. Always looking thge better team, Red Star extended their lead with twenty minutes left as Negrèche was fouled by the home goalkeeper, an offence which more often than not merits an early bath for the perpetrator. However it was not to be, but from the spot kick justice appeared to have been done as David Couto PINTO found the net; but the referee had spotted something and ordered that the kick be re-taken. The kick was just as clean an accurate as the first attempt and so Red Star doubled their advantage. Minutes later, however, Red Star were reduced to ten men as Lux rected to provocation from a Jura Sud player. Red card for the number eleven. The last minutes of the game saw a flurry of chances for the home side, but Yoann Djidonou and his defence held firm. They finally cracked in the last minute, Bourabia reducing the margin to 1-2, but despite ten minutes of added time, the equaliser failed to arrive and Red Star made the very long trip home with full points.
